Ministering to the hurting
1 Peter 5:7
The bible encourages the believer to keep a compassionate, caring and watchful eye upon the flock of God in order to ensure that their social and spiritual needs are met.
Due to the fragmented social climate of this present age, the needs of the believer have become more complex and complicated than at any time in history. In light of this the ‘iCare’ (Pastoral Care) Team, has been designed to professionally cater for the difficult and delicate issues that people so often face.
The iCare Service Team are committed to regular hospital visitations, expert counselling, listening skills, bereavement and long-term sickness support. The team also assists the vision with absentee follow up, flash visitation and general care as and when needed.
All team members are required to complete a ten-week course entitled ‘Resourcing Pastoral Carers’, accredited by the ‘Association of Christian Counsellors’ before they are released to serve within the church body or wider local community. They also receive ongoing training around their own wellbeing & personal areas of interest to develop their knowledge base around caring.
