A Week of Fasting & Prayer.

Monday 11th – Friday 15th October 2021.

Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,  Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.  Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?  (Joel 1:14-16)

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?  Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?  Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.  Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.  (Isa. 58:6-9)

Jesus replied, “Do wedding guests mourn while celebrating with the groom? Of course not. But someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.  (Matt. 9:15 NLT)

Dear All

We are living in perilous and troubled times indeed within this country.

The nation continues to battle against the Covid 19 pandemic, petrol pumps are empty, fuel prices are set to rise over winter, medical procedure waiting lists are rising and we are told that there may be severe food shortages and non loses this coming winter.

The Bible declares that during the last days before the second coming of the Messiah, that men’s hearts will fail them, due to fear because of multiple crisis appearing all at once.

Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.(Luke 21:26)

However, God has given His people the ultimate solution to help both quell endure any precarious, deadly or challenging season that may befall the nation.

If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.  (2 Chron. 7:13-15)

As the Pastor of this house, the place where God has chosen to meet with His people and hear our prayers, I am calling a solemn assembly and asking us ALL to gather together for a week of prayer and fasting for the urgent healing of the nation, our government and the realigning of the Church.

The fast shall be entitled; ‘Then Shall they Fast,’ an excerpt taken from Matt. 9:15, to declare Kingdom order upon this great chaos and disorder.

I will be leading early morning prayers daily throughout the duration of the fast from 6:00 – to 6:30am on Zoom.

The fast will start at 6:00am and conclude at 5:00pm sharp.

If you have a medical condition and are on medication and need to eat whilst taking them please join us in prayer only
using wisdom at all times.

I am asking ALL OF YOU that are able to make an effort to join me as we seek the Lord’s direction for our land, our families, our church and  our future.

‘The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.

When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh:

“By the decree of the king and his nobles:  Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence.  Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.”
(Jonah 3:5-9 NIV)
